By now you and your staff are primed and ready for the holiday rush. Your staff is trained, displays are up, and customer traffic is on the rise. So what do you do now? That’s easy. It’s time to talk turkey. The new year is right around the corner. Are you poised for a strong start to 2016? Now is the time to think about your business goals and initiatives for next year and how employee development fits into that plan.
Your staff is your most important asset. As a manager and a trainer, it’s your job to empower your staff with the knowledge they need to not only be the best they can be in their current position, but to pursue a career path in your organization as well. Key employees may excel on the sales floor, but how do they handle bigger challenges on a shift? Have they been coached on how to respond to dissatisfied customers, making decisions under pressure, or internal conflict? When you model exceptional service and mentoring skills, your employees will follow your lead.
Module of the Month: Importance of Being a Role Model
When managers set an example for employees by being excellent role models, they are inspiring respect, harmony and adherence to rules in the workplace. Training your management team on how to be good role models will help them create a work environment where employees work hard, follow rules and are respectful.

Be sure to reinforce what your employees are learning with On-the-Job training (OJT). In addition, our Success Guide, located in “Docs” within your Sunhawk X system, provides an invaluable checklist that allows you to track OJT and ensure trainees have the skills they need to be successful in their roles. Using the Success Guide encourages trainers and trainees to become active participants in reaching your company’s overall training goals.
